Kayla Myers is one of the most accomplished softball players ever to come out of Western North Carolina. She offers college coaches versatility, speed, determination, athleticism and academic excellence few can bring to the table. Offensively, you will not find many kids with the ability at the plate. As a sophomore left handed batter, she hit over .500. She has led her team in batting for two seasons, helping her team to reach the Final Four in the state tournament two of the three years she has been a starter. She has the strength to hit in the gaps and the speed to turn infield ground balls into base hits. Defensively, she is just as valuable. She is an excellent catcher (1.81-1.87 H to 1st pop time). Fundamentally very strong behind the plate, pass balls are an oddity for her. As an outfielder she has the speed and arm strength to keep runners from taking extra bases. Kayla is also an excellent volleyball setter. In 2008, as a setter she set the school record for assists as her team won the state championship. In basketball, she is an effective point guard who has near perfect shooting form from the outside. Academically, Kayla carries a 3.6 and needs only two classes to graduate as a senior. She comes from a terrific family. She is well regarded in the community and has a pleasant personality.
